Updated Building Security Procedures

Updated Building Security Procedures

Beginning Monday, October 20, the JEH Education Center doors will remain locked at all times. This change aligns with security measures already in place at other District 65 schools and is an important step to help us keep our youngest learners and staff safe.

Here’s what you need to know:

Family/Visitor Entry:

A JEH ECC staff member will be present at the entrance during student arrival/dismissal and remain there until five (5) minutes after the school day begins/ends.

After that time, families and visitors will need to buzz the camera system, state their reason for entry, and wait for the door to be unlocked before entering. A new intercom system is located to the right of the main door for this purpose.

Please plan to arrive at your child’s scheduled start/end times so that arrival/dismissal goes smoothly.

Arrival Times by Program:

  • Head Start Full-Day & AM Classes: 8:00 AM
  • PFA & SEED ½-Day AM: 8:35 AM
  • Head Start ½-Day PM: 12:00 PM
  • PFA & SEED ½-Day PM: 12:30 PM

Dismissal Times by Program:

  • Head Start Full-Day Classes: 3:00 PM
  • PFA & SEED ½-Day AM: 11:05 AM
  • PFA & SEED ½-Day PM: 3:00 PM
  • Head Start ½-Day PM: 3:30 PM

Staff Entry:

Staff must use their district-issued ID badge to gain access.

If you do not have an ID badge, you must buzz in and state your reason for entry. A new intercom system is located to the right of the main door for this purpose.

We are grateful to the Climate and Safety and Buildings and Grounds teams for their help in making this a smooth transition, and we kindly ask for your partnership and patience. By working together, we can ensure that JEH ECC continues to be a safe and welcoming place for all children and families.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Best Regards,
